Updated List of Philadelphia Eagles Player Acquisitions | Eagles Addict

The Philadelphia Eagles have added numerous players to their roster since the end of the 2012 season.  In case you missed any or simply forgot some, here is a list of all the players they’ve added this offseason and how they acquired them…

Free agent signings:

  • OT Allen Barbre, 6′ 4″ 305 lbs, 28 years old
  • DE Everette Brown, 6′ 1″ 256 lbs, 25 years old
  • CB Trevard Lindley, 6′ 183 lbs, 27 years old
  • WR DeMarco Sampson, 6′ 2″ 204 lbs, 27 years old
  • WR Nick Miller, 5′ 9″ 180 lbs, 26 years old
  • CB Chris Hawkins, 6′ 1″ 184 lbs, 26 years old

**Note: All of the above players were signed before Chip Kelly was named coach

The rest of the free agent signings after Kelly’s hire…

  • LB Chris McCoy, 6′ 3″ 261 lbs, 26
  • OT Ed Wang, 6′ 5″ 321 lbs, 26
  • QB G.J. Kinne, 6′ 2″ 234 lbs, 24
  • QB Dennis Dixon, 6′ 3″ 209 lbs, 28
  • DT Isaac Sopoaga, 6′ 2″ 330, 31
  • TE James Casey, 6′ 3″ 240 lbs, 28
  • S Patrick Chung, 5′ 11″ 210 lbs, 25
  • S Kenny Phillips, 6′ 2″ 217 lbs, 26
  • LB Jason Phillips, 6′ 1″ 240 lbs, 27
  • OLB Connor Barwin, 6′ 4″ 268 lbs, 26
  • CB Bradley Fletcher, 6′ 200 lbs, 26
  • C Cary Williams, 6′ 1″ 190 lbs, 28
  • P Donnie Jones 6′ 2″ 221 lbs, 32

Acquired via trade:

WR Arrelious Benn, 6′ 2″ 220 lbs, 24 (Eagles traded their 6th-rounder and conditional 2014 pick for Benn and Tampa Bay’s 7th-rounder)

DE Clifton Geathers, 6′ 7″ 325 lbs, 25 (Eagles gave the Colts FB Stanley Havili in a player-for-player trade)

That makes a total of 21 players added to the roster since January.  Of those 21 players, seven are potential starters: Sopoaga, K. Phillips, Chung, Fletcher, Williams, Jones, and Barwin.  Casey likely won’t be a starter, but should be involved quite a bit in the offense.

That makes eight new players — so far — that will change the face of this team.  And if Benn performs well in camps, he could find himself having a significant role in the offense as well.

Another thing to notice is the average age of the players acquired is 26.7 years old.  If you take away the 32-year old punter, it’s 26.4.  Obviously, this is a youth movement and they’ll get even younger after the draft.

Interesting offseason to date, and we still have the draft to add some good talent.  Also, don’t be surprised if there are a few more trades by, or during, April’s draft.
