Eagles vs. Cardinals Week 3 Preview
Both the Eagles and Cardinals are feeling good about themselves after posting impressive victories last weekend. Can Philadelphia keep momentum high with a win over Arizona in Week 3?
So that’s now two Eagles wins to start the season, albeit two wins that were both decided by a solitary point.
A week after escaping with a 17-16 win over the Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia held on to beat the Baltimore Ravens 24-23 in Week 2. Again it was a last-minute win as Michael Vick found the end zone with under two minutes to go to put the Eagles up one.
All in all though, it was quite a showing for the Philadelphia offense.
Vick had 371 yards passing and threw one touchdown pass (two interceptions). He added a further 34 yards rushing with another score and guided the Eagles to 486 yards of total offense, over 150 more than what the Ravens were able to muster up.
LeSean McCoy had 25 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown, while DeSean Jackson and Brent Celek really tore it up in the receiving game. The duo combined for 271 yards in the win.
The Eagles defense did a nice job of keeping Joe Flacco from going off like he did in Week 1. He was picked off once, was sacked twice and also lost a fumble as Baltimore failed to convert and get seven points once they got into the red zone.
This weekend, the Eagles will take on an Arizona team that has been surprising everyone. The Cardinals have beaten the Seattle Seahawks at home and then shocked the New England Patriots this past weekend.
Nonetheless, the Eagles walk into Phoenix as the favorites in the NFL odds for this Week 3 encounter. We can’t wait to see which team ends up 3-0 when everything’s said and done.
