Philadelphia Eagles: Conflicting Reports About LB Dan Connor | Eagles Addict

More news on the Dan Connor-to-Philadelphia Eagles front: Pete Prisco of CBS Sports tweeted late last night that he keeps hearing “Dan Connor to Eagles will be done.”

This was reported last week by Geoff Mosher of the Delaware News Journal as well.

Then, just this morning, Howard Eskin tweeted the following:

Then shortly after that tweet, Eskin tweeted this:

Confused yet?

All of this means that, at the least, the Eagles are definitely interested in Dan Connor but are likely working on other deals as well. It could be a case of preferring another player, but if that doesn’t work out Connor would be Plan B.

For my initial reaction to this news last week, you can read here.

If the likes of Stephen Tulloch, Curtis Lofton, and David Hawthorne can be seen as the Mercedes’ of the  linebacker class in this free agency, then Connor could be viewed as a certified pre-owned Chevy.

Still runs well, is tough, and will get you where you need to be.  And most importantly to the Eagles, is easier on the purse strings.  At the end of the day, the Eagles could do worse than Connor.

They could do better, but Connor is a tough guy who tackles well and should improve the overall linebacking corps.  Of course, that’s if the Eagles end up signing him, that is.
